World Baseball Classic

I just read the news, so I haven’t had time to process just how excited I am about the 2013 World Baseball Classic semifinals and final coming to San Francisco’s AT&T Park next March.  I’m pretty confident, however, that my anticipation level falls somewhere within the “a lot” to “a whole lot” range. I was…

Manny Ramirez

Last night I was googling Manny Ramirez, as one does.  My primary motivation for checking in on the dreaded one was this: with the A’s-Mariners 2-game Japan Series on Wednesday and Thursday, the baseball season has officially begun.  So too, has Manny’s 50-game suspension.  I was looking to confirm that Manny would be serving the…

Excuse Me While I Contradict Myself

On Friday I threw up my hands in bewilderment at what appears to be the A’s master plan for the 2011-12 offseason: accumulating as many OF/1B/DH-types as one team possibly can.  Then, I saw this, and did a complete about-face.  Manny Ramirez?  Manny Being Manny?  So what if the A’s already have 10 candidates for…
